Intersoft have been announced as the winners of the Best Sustainability Initiative at the eCommerce Awards 2023.
Recognising excellence within the eCommerce space, the eCommerce Awards highlight some of the best products and initiatives found in the industry.
The awards are organised by the eCommerce Expo, an annual event that Intersoft attended on 27th September this year.
The judges commended Intersoft for their fantastic reduction of impact on the environment. They loved the schemes that have been put in place and noted that it felt like a company going over and beyond, and paving the way forward.
Best Sustainability Initiative
The Best Sustainability Initiative award aims to highlight the winning company’s commitment to reducing environmental impact, not only across their business but also in the wider eCommerce landscape.
Since September last year, Intersoft have been growing their Ecologi initiative, enabling them to plant over 8,000 trees to offset the carbon impact of their employees every month through their Climate Positive Workforce initiative and mitigate the effect of their label production with every 50 million labels produce through their system.
Through the partnership with Ecologi, Intersoft have also been able to support various climate positive projects, such as restoring rainforests in Brazil, and funding wind power development in Thailand.
Many other eco-friendly initiatives have also been put in place to aid Intersoft in reaching their sustainability goals, including the Cycle to Work and Electric Car schemes, and working with suppliers to make sure the energy used in the Intersoft office is 100% renewable.
The award marks the first time Intersoft’s efforts towards carbon neutrality and sustainability across the business have been formally recognised. The achievement has only encouraged the company to continue to build upon their green initiatives to reach challenging sustainability goals.
James Thomas, Managing Director of Intersoft, said of the achievement, “It’s a fantastic recognition of the work Intersoft is doing to help our climate. We’ve made sustainability a key priority alongside our business targets and are aiming to plant one hundred thousand trees by 2025. This target is a crucial part of reducing Intersoft’s environmental impact as a business at the centre of eCommerce, an industry which generates a great deal of packaging waste and transportation emissions every year.”
