When Wentworth Puzzles – manufacturer and retailer of classic British-made wooden jigsaw puzzles – needed a solution that would integrate its ERP system with new delivery partners, and help it meet legislation around customs pre-advice data for international deliveries, it reached out to Intersoft for support.
Intersoft was able to provide fast on-boarding and integration with multiple carriers; Royal Mail, Parcelforce and FedEX, via its Intelligent Shipper carrier management solution. This provides the shopper with the most efficient and cost-effective delivery option for their goods, and automatically creates domestic and international shipping labels for the retailer.
Intersoft’s solution for Wentworth Puzzles also included automation of customs documentation, producing the necessary shipping labels and taking care of customs pre-advice to enable international delivery.
The solution rolled live in February 2020, just weeks prior to the UK’s Covid-19 lockdown, and followed by a significant spike in sales as shoppers looked to keep themselves entertained while self-isolating. The impact of the lockdown had a significant impact on Wentworth Puzzles’ delivery partners too, who were placed under unprecedented demand with more consumers shopping online. Having access to an automated multiple carrier solution via one system has allowed the retailer to quickly shift services across delivery partners to navigate through any service disruptions.
Intelligent Shipper has also significantly increased the speed at which Wentworth Puzzles can respond to orders, thanks to the automation of label and customs documentation creation. Wentworth Puzzles legacy system meant International Express deliveries had to processed manually via the delivery partner’s website, equating to five minutes of additional time per order. Now, with the Intelligent Shipper solution, all labels are produced in seconds for both domestic and international deliveries.
